The City of love and lights
17 August 2011
Paris is completely different to any of the cities in Italy. Italy & Italians are organic, passionate, lively and loud. The Parisians is no less passionate, but in a very different way, you see it in the lovers strolling down The Champs de Elysees, the way they walk and the whole city oozes romance and passion. I went to Paris last year as well, but that was in winter and the city has two completely different personalities in different seasons. You’ll see form the few pics I posted from my previous trip that the term “city of lights” are a little more relevant for autumn and winter, because the sun only sets at 22:45 in July (their summer). And the Parisians is truly outdoorsy people in Summer, Paris is well renown for all it’s public parks and during the summer everybody would congregate on the lawns and under the trees, from tourists to well dressed business men taking a break during lunch. We arrived in Paris during a heatwave and the one day we were some of the 100s of people splashing in the fountains – I never imagined 37 degrees in Europe. If I had to describe Paris in one word it would be “detail”. The attention to detail is so overwhelming and awe-inspiring, that you only really can take it in afterwards as you look through your pictures…. Enjoy! Or like the say in French: Amusez-vous!
