Pieter & Eva

As a wedding photographer you get to see amazing things, experience joy, even sorrow at a wedding, but to be honest it’s been a long time since a wedding has touched me in such a personal way as Pieter & Eva’s. I’m kind of embarrassed to admit that I probably cried throughout the ceremony. The tangible love for each other, for God and their families was just something very, very special.
Because of you, I can feel myself slowly but surely becoming the me I have always dreamed of being. – Tyler Knott Gregson
Maybe because I’m a girl, the relationship between Eva’s dad and his daughters, where very touching. And a groom who spent 9 months living in a caravan, just so he can save up for a dream honeymoon – I mean, this is the stuff movies are made of. The whole day had special, authentic touches – Pieter’s mom baked Ginger bread Grooms & Brides and decorated all of them by hand. Eva, doing not only her own hair & make-up, but the bride’s maids’ too.
I shot Eva’s cousins wedding (have a look at their awesome wedding here) last year and enjoying life to the full is definitely a family trait. Someone said during the speeches that Eva dances through life and I couldn’t help being “envious” of this group of vibrant and passionate people. Pieter & Eva, julle het ‘n baie spesiale plekkie in my hart. Dankie dat ek deel van julle liefdesfees kon wees…
